Adi Sanskriti: India Launches Digital Platform for Tribal Artforms
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the Beta version of Adi Sanskriti, a first-of-its-kind digital learning platform dedicated to preserving and promoting India’s tribal heritage. The platform was unveiled at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, during the National Conference on Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan.
In his address, the Minister recalled the earlier launch of Adi Vaani, India’s first AI-powered translator for tribal languages, and noted that Adi Sanskriti builds on the same vision of blending tradition with technology. Together, these platforms are laying the foundation for a digital ecosystem that preserves heritage while creating opportunities for tribal communities.
Key Highlights
- Three Components:
- Adi Vishwavidyalaya – 45 digital courses on tribal dance, painting, crafts, music & folklore.
- Adi Sampada – Repository of 5,000+ curated documents on tribal art and culture.
- Adi Haat – Linked with TRIFED, evolving into a marketplace for tribal artisans.
- State Participation: 15 State Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) collaborated in the first phase, ensuring authenticity and grassroots representation.
- Vision: Adi Sanskriti aims to evolve into a Tribal Digital University with certifications, advanced research, and a sustainable livelihood marketplace.
