India Among Best-Performing G20 Nations in Sustainability

India is emerging as one of the best-performing G20 nations in meeting sustainability commitments. At the 20th Global Sustainability Summit of CII in New Delhi, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry shared key achievements and future goals.
Key Highlights:
- Global Leadership at COP21 (2015): PM Narendra Modi brought nations together to agree on sustainability goals.
- Renewable Energy Push: India has already achieved 50% renewable energy capacity, aiming for 500 GW by 2030.
- Affordable Clean Power: Renewable energy now available at ₹4.6–5.0 per unit, among the cheapest globally.
- One Nation, One Grid: National interconnected grid ensures 24×7 clean energy supply.
- Zero Defect, Zero Effect: Industry urged to focus on quality + sustainability.
- Global Trade: India expanding partnerships with Mauritius, Australia, UAE, UK, EFTA, and in talks with the US, EU, Chile, Peru, New Zealand, Oman.
- Innovation Call: Startups encouraged to develop solutions for energy efficiency, recycling, and climate resilience.

With 18% contribution to global growth and on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, India’s growth story is being powered by sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.
