India’s Semiconductor Roadmap: 23 New Designs Approved

India has approved 23 chip-design projects under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, with 72 companies gaining access to advanced Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. The goal is to boost India’s semiconductor ecosystem across surveillance, energy, mobility, aerospace, and industrial applications.

Among these, Vervesemi Microelectronics — a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2017 — has announced a roadmap of advanced ICs. Its designs range from motor-control chips for EVs and drones to aerospace-grade data systems and smart energy meters, with first samples expected by end-2025/2026 and volume production in 2027.
