Today on 3rd Sep 2025, TRAI has released the Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicators Report, highlighting growth in subscribers, revenue, and broadcasting services.

Internet Crosses 1 Billion

  • Mar 2025: 969M → Jun 2025: 1003M (+3.5%)
  • Broadband: 980M (+3.8%)
  • Narrowband: 23M (decline)
  • Wireless Internet: 958M (dominant)
  • Wired Internet: 45M

Wireline Comeback

  • Subscribers: 47.5M (+28% QoQ, +35% YoY)
  • Tele-density: 2.6% → 3.4%

Telecom Subscribers

  • Total: 1218M (+1.5%)
  • Urban: 680M | 134% Tele-density
  • Rural: 539M | 59% Tele-density
  • Wireless (incl. 5G FWA): 1171M
  • 5G FWA users: 7.9M

Revenue & Usage

  • Gross Revenue (GR): ₹96,646 Cr (↓1.6% QoQ, ↑12% YoY)
  • Adjusted GR (AGR): ₹81,325 Cr (+2.7% QoQ, ↑15% YoY)
  • License Fee: ₹6,506 Cr (+2.6% QoQ)
  • Wireless ARPU: ₹186.6/month (+2% QoQ, ↑19% YoY)
  • Avg. Data Usage: 24 GB per user/month
  • MOU: 1006 mins/month (↓1.9%)

Broadcasting & Radio

  • Satellite TV Channels: 912
  • Pay TV Channels: 333 (232 SD + 101 HD)
  • Pay DTH Subscribers: 56.1M (slight decline)
  • Private FM Stations: 388 (113 cities)
  • Community Radio: 540
